Initial Consultation and Analysis
At the initial consultation, I carefully listen to the circumstances of the situation, clarify the facts, and review any documents the client already has.
The goal at this stage is to understand the real procedural position, assess possible risks, and form a preliminary legal position without creating unrealistic expectations.
Work at the Inquiry Stage
If this involves a pre-investigation inquiry into a report of a possible crime, it’s important not to wait for the situation to “resolve itself.”
At this stage I help develop a strategy for giving explanations, prepare written submissions and motions, monitor compliance with procedural deadlines, and document any violations by officials.
Investigation and Inquiry
During the preliminary investigation, I take part in interrogations, searches, confrontations, and other investigative actions, working to ensure the client’s rights are respected.
In parallel, I independently gather and analyze defense evidence, and file motions, applications, and challenges that can affect the scope of the charge, the legal classification of the acts, and the preventive measure.
Trial Court
At the trial court, the main task is to present the defense position as fully and consistently as possible.
I prepare for every hearing, think through questions for witnesses, review expert findings, and structure the closing argument so the court sees every circumstance relevant to the sentence.
Appeal, Cassation, Supreme Court
Challenging court decisions requires a thorough analysis of the case materials and the reasoning behind the judgment.
I prepare appellate and cassation complaints and applications to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, pointing to violations of law, incomplete examination of evidence, and other grounds for changing or overturning the decision.
Sentence Execution Stage
Even after a sentence takes effect, the convicted person still has procedural options for mitigating the consequences.
I provide assistance with parole, replacement of the unserved portion of a sentence with a more lenient form, release due to illness, and related procedural matters.
